Use of Ayurveda and Sri Lankan traditional medicine for healing shaft of humerus fracture following nonunion
A 14-year-old with a nonunion humerus fracture, after failed allopathic treatment, sought Ayurvedic management. The fracture was immobilized using bamboo splints for six months, with herbal oil and paste applied at each visit. After six months, motor function and quality of life improved significantly (p = 0.03), and X-rays showed complete healing, demonstrating Ayurveda's effectiveness in treating nonunion fractures.

Treatment of acute avulsion of posterior cruciate ligament of left knee with bony fragment by Siddha Varmam therapy and traditional bone setting method
A 42-year-old man with an acute PCL avulsion fracture after a road accident was treated using Siddha Varmam therapy and traditional bone setting. Diagnosed through clinical examination and radiograph, the patient showed complete healing of the fracture after a month of treatment, without the need for surgery, and regained normal walking ability. This highlights the effectiveness of Siddha Varmam therapy for PCL injuries.
